What distinguishes quantum-safe from quantum-secure?
Quantum-safe solutions are resistant to known attacks from both classical and quantum computers based on current mathematical understanding, while quantum-secure solutions utilize methods, like one-time pad (OTP) encryption with true random numbers from quantum sources, designed to be unbreakable even with future quantum advancements.
This is a type of encryption or signing algorithm, where the encryption and decryption steps use different keys – often the recipient will have a private key to decrypt and a public key for others to encrypt it for them.
This is the peer-reviewed and patented technology that is the basis of Qrypt’s key generation and secure transfer products. It enables the generation of identical symmetric keys at multiple endpoints, without ever needing to distribute that key over the wire. This means that it cannot be intercepted.
Cryptography that is implemented using algorithms that are thought safe from future quantum attack. Today’s asymmetric algorithms underpinning most internet transactions are at risk and need to be replaced with PQC algorithms, however while they are better than what is in place not even these PQC algorithms are proven secure.
Entropy is a measure of randomness in a system, and quantum entropy is randomness based on quantum sources. Qrypt uses sensitive measurement electronics on different types of quantum sources to produce true random numbers.
